아다치구

아다치구의 기타센주는 에도 시대 닛코 가도의 첫 번째 역참이었습니다. 사람과 물자가 지나는 길목이었기 때문에 숙소와 음식점이 모였고, 그 성격이 지금의 술집 거리로 이어졌습니다. 역참 시절의 지명과 상호가 아직 남아 있습니다.

이 동네의 특징은 여는 시간입니다. 오후 3시 전후에 문을 여는 술집이 여럿 있고, 그 시간에 이미 손님이 앉아 있습니다. 야간 근무를 마친 사람과 은퇴한 사람이 섞여 있어, 낮술이 눈에 띄는 행동이 아닙니다. 도쿄 도심에서 이런 시간대에 술집을 찾기는 쉽지 않습니다.

다이슈사카바라 불리는 형식의 가게가 많습니다. 큰 테이블을 모르는 사람과 나눠 쓰는 경우가 흔하고, 자리에 앉으면 합석이 전제입니다. 이것을 불편하게 느끼면 카운터 자리를 청하는 편이 낫습니다. 대개 그 정도의 요청은 받아 줍니다.

足立区の北千住は、江戸時代に日光街道の最初の宿場だった。人と物が行き交う場所だったため宿と飲食店が集まり、その性格が今の酒場街につながっている。宿場時代の地名や屋号が今も残る。

この町の特徴は開く時間である。午後3時前後に開く酒場がいくつもあり、その時間にはすでに客が座っている。夜勤明けの人と引退した人が混じっていて、昼から飲むことが目立つ行為ではない。東京の都心でこの時間帯に酒場を探すのは容易ではない。

大衆酒場と呼ばれる形式の店が多い。大きなテーブルを知らない人と分け合うことが普通で、席に着けば相席が前提である。これを窮屈に感じるならカウンター席を頼んだ方がよい。たいていその程度の希望は聞いてもらえる。

Kita-Senju in Adachi was the first post station on the Nikko highway in the Edo period. People and goods passed through, inns and eating houses gathered, and that character carried into today's drinking district. Place names and shop names from the post-station era are still in use.

The distinguishing feature is opening time. Several bars open around three in the afternoon, and by then customers are already seated — people coming off night shifts mixed with the retired. Drinking in the afternoon draws no attention here. Finding a bar open at that hour in central Tokyo is not easy.

Many are taishu-sakaba, the popular tavern format. Sharing a large table with strangers is normal, and sitting down assumes it. If that feels uncomfortable, ask for a counter seat instead — a request of that size is usually accommodated.
