이타바시구

이타바시구의 오야마에는 역 출구부터 560m가량 이어지는 아케이드 상점가가 있습니다. 지붕이 전 구간에 있어 우산 없이 끝까지 걸을 수 있고, 200개가 넘는 점포가 들어차 있습니다. 도쿄에 남은 대형 아케이드 중 하나입니다.

그런데 이 거리는 지금 사라지는 중입니다. 도로 사업 계획에 따라 아케이드 일부가 2024년부터 해체되기 시작했고, 역 주변 재개발도 동시에 진행되고 있습니다. 상점가 한가운데를 도로가 통과하게 되는 구조라, 지금의 모습은 기록으로 남을 가능성이 큽니다.

이 상점가에는 특이한 가게가 하나 있습니다. 상점가 진흥조합이 직접 운영하는 곳으로, 전국의 시정촌과 직접 계약해 그 지역의 채소와 특산품을 들여옵니다. 상점가가 스스로 가게를 여는 형태는 흔치 않아서, 이 구를 보러 간다면 여기를 함께 보는 것이 좋습니다.

板橋区の大山には、駅の出口から560mほど続くアーケード商店街がある。全区間に屋根があり傘なしで端まで歩け、200を超える店舗が入る。東京に残る大型アーケードの一つである。

ところがこの通りは今、消えつつある。道路事業の計画によりアーケードの一部が2024年から解体され始め、駅周辺の再開発も同時に進んでいる。商店街の真ん中を道路が通る構造になるため、今の姿は記録として残る可能性が高い。

この商店街には変わった店が一軒ある。商店街振興組合が直接運営する店で、全国の市町村と直接契約してその地域の野菜や特産品を仕入れている。商店街が自ら店を開く形は珍しく、この区を見に行くならここも併せて見るとよい。

In Oyama, Itabashi, a covered shopping arcade runs roughly 560 metres from the station exit. The roof covers the entire length, so you can walk it end to end without an umbrella, and over two hundred shops line it. It is one of the large arcades still standing in Tokyo.

It is also disappearing. Under a road scheme, sections of the arcade began coming down in 2024, and redevelopment around the station is proceeding at the same time. A road will run through the middle of the shopping street, so what stands today may soon exist only as a record.

One shop here is unusual: it is run directly by the shopping street's own promotion association, contracting with municipalities across Japan to bring in their vegetables and regional produce. A shopping street operating its own store is rare, and worth seeing alongside the rest if you come.
